James Besha Sr. P.E. – President Albany Engineering Corporation.

Mr. Besha is a graduate of Syracuse University with degrees in Sociology and Industrial Systems Engineering. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in nine states.

Mr. Besha is an engineer, developer and owner of multiple hydroelectric facilities. Albany Engineering Corporation owns and operates the Mechanicville Hydroelectric Station, which is the oldest continuing operating hydroelectric facility in the world, built in 1897, using original generating equipment operating 100% on lignum vitae.

Phil Thompson – Superintendent of the 242 MW Osage hydropower plant.

Phil graduated from the University of Missouri in Rolla in 1988 as an electrical engineer. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Missouri and has worked his entire career in power plants. He has worked at the Osage hydroelectric power plant for 15 years and has served as plant manager for the last 10 years. In this role he is responsible for operations, maintenance, engineering and the decision to return 100% of his units back to lignum vitae.

John Andrews – President Powerhouse Mechanical

John received his Mechanical Engineering degree from North Carolina State University. John worked for Powerhouse Mechanical Repair in different capacities before becoming its President in 1998.

Powerhouse specializes in rotating component repair work for big industries including power generation. Powerhouse has partnered with Lignum Vitae North America on several Alabama Power projects giving them unique experience machining and working with lignum vitae.

Previously, John worked at Controls Southeast Inc. for 5 years in the petro chemical industry providing process heating systems. At Robert W Chapman John worked for 6 years with process controls and his work ranged all the way to power generation controls. Fresh out of school he worked in the water treatment industry with boilers and cooling towers. John has 2 children and a lovely wife. He loves outdoors, golf, hunting and gardening.

Mike Dupuis – President Hydro Tech Inc.

Mike Dupuis has been the President and CEO of Hydro Tech Inc. since 2001. As Lead Design Consultant Mike has extensive experience in thrust bearing design (both PTFE and Babbitt), converting, overhauling and upgrading hydro generator/turbines, alignments, maintenance, and hydro electric generator operations, Mike has worked exclusively in the hydro electric field for the past twenty-three years with a recent specialty of lignum vitae conversions.

Thom Fischer, P.E. – President Tollhouse Energy

Thom Fischer has over 35 years’ experience as a project manager and professional engineer, licensed in both California and Washington. Mr. Fischer specializes in hydroelectric engineering and design, with a special interest in the concept of providing clean, efficient, and affordable energy to arctic region. Mr. Fischer earned his Bachelor of Science in Transportation Engineering/Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and studied Arctic Engineering at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. Currently, Mr. Fischer is managing the refurbishment of the Electron Hydroelectric project in Orting, as well as the Black Creek Hydro Facility in North Bend, both in Washington state.

Known for its reliability Thom was looking for an opportunity to use lignum vitae and found it when he installed it in his 900′ head Pelton unit with great results.
